“Resurrection Morning”
“This is the Gospel”

(I Corinthians 15:1-26
)

Christianity  is based on the fact that Jesus was born, lived, died and rose from the dead, therefore his resurrection is our assurance that we will rise and not remain in the grave upon death. This is a great truth and we must stand upon it’s promises.

Scripture consideration

The Gospel
1Co 15:1- Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
1Co 15:2
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain

The Controversy
1Co 15:12 - Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
a.    We preached he rose, die he?
b.     You said he did not, didn’t he?

The Resurrection Hoax
1Co 15:13 - But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
a.    If there is not resurrection, we are doomed v-14, 29, and 30.
The Negative results of no Resurrection:
     Vs 14b -19
a.    Our preaching is vain v 14b
b.    Our faith is in vain v14c
c.    We become false witnesses v 15a
d.    We lied on God v 15b
e.    There is no resurrection from death v16
f.    We are on our way to hell v 17
g.    Our loved ones are doomed v 18
h.    We are just wasting our time believing

The Positive results of the Resurrection:
    Vs 20-26
a.    Christ is risen v 20a
b.    He is the first fruit from death v20b
c.    Death is conquered v 21
d.    We have life through Jesus v22
e.    We have access to the God v24
f.    All enemies will fall v25
g.    The last enemy is destroyed v26

Closing: Jesus did rise from the dead and conquered death and has given us eternal life.  We will one day be presented faultless to God, safe and secured for all eternity.  Praise God.
