Course Outline/Syllabus – Beginning Greek II

LBBI MissionStatement:

To build and strengthen a foundation of Gospel of Jesus Christ for effective leadership and service wherever assigned by the Lord for the work of the Kingdom.

 

Course Description:

Necessary basic helps and supplementary resources for the beginning New Testament Greek Student.  Introduces the students to Greek vocabulary and grammar, with a thorough reading and analysis of various scriptures in the bible.

 

Course Goals and Objectives:

  • To understand the principles and processes of Biblical Interpretation
  • To understand the Greek vocabulary and grammar
  • To understand the first and second declensions
  • To understand the order of words, Adjective and Pronouns
  • To understand the construction of the Greek language.

 

These Objectives:

These objectives will be accomplished through lectures, reading, re-action papers, pop quizzes, midterm and final examination.

 

Attendance is essential and two extra assignments per absence are required upon return from absence to clear missed class time.  Lack of compliance without professor’s approval lowers final grade at the professor’s discretion.

 

Course outline schedule:

Week one – Orientation/Introduction/overview of the Greek language.

Week Two thru four – Vocabulary, Vowels and verbs, Vocabulary one, two and use of five cases

Week five – Understanding and mastering the second declension

Week Six – Mid term

Week seven -  thru Eight - Lesson 6 – The first declension

Week nine – Lesson 7 – Enclitics, Personal Pronouns

Week ten & Eleven – Learning the art of translation from Greek to English.

Week Twelve Final Examination
